Dynamic Parent spotlight
Ms. Linda Havrun
WSE has provided my children with amazing opportunities; opportunities I am sure they would not have had if I did not transfer them here when they were in the 2nd and 3rd grades. My son Thomas, has been a member of our dance team (where he performed in several competitions, earning 2nd and 1st place trophies), our drumline (where he shared the First place Award for music in the St. Patrick's Day parade-what an honor!), worked with our TD students as a catalyst until he was later tested and labeled TD himself, was a member of our school's leadership team, worked on our school's news team as sports announcer on WEGL news, and made some very true and strong friendships that I believe will last a long time. How many kids have that much to say about their elementary school experiences?? He is now a sixth grade student at Piedmont Middle School. I am confident that he is displaying all the great character traits and studying skills that he has learned at this school by our amazing team of teachers. My daughter Katelyn (aka Katie) is also a student here. She is in the fifth grade and has had many of the same experiences as he. She has been on our awesome dance team (which has lead to her becoming a 9 hour a week level 3 gymnast), has also worked on WEGL news (but as a lunch announcer and front desk anchor"girl", is on our school leadership team (recently promoted to safety patrol-Look out hall runners she'll catch you!), and has become quite the dancer as a result of our very talented dance teacher's classes once a week. Katie, also has developed very strong connections with friends and teachers here at WSE. |
